Article by Phoenix writer Olivia Cady ’26:

On Tuesday, November 1st, the Kellenberg community gathered together to celebrate the Solemnity of All Saints. All Saints Day or All Hallows’ Day is celebrated every November 1st. The feast of All Saints Day celebrates the connection between those in Heaven and on Earth. The day honors all of the lives of saints in the church and all those who have ascended into Heaven.

Father John Crozier led the Mass for the freshmen and sophomore divisions. During the homily, he spoke about Father Francis, a former Kellenberg priest who significantly impacted his life as well as many others. He shared a personal story about how Father Francis greeted everyone he met with a warm smile on their way to mid-day prayer. The Bible teaches us that sainthood isn’t given by a group of religious leaders. It is granted by God himself to any common, salt-of-the-earth person who simply trusts Christ. Father Crozier’s story held significant meaning because it helped students understand the true meaning of All Saints Day and who it celebrates.
When asked what this Mass meant to her, freshman Madeleine Meenan responded, “It was a great way to remember all of the Saints and loved ones who have passed away and how they are still remembered in the church.”

The All Saints Day Mass helps the Kellenberg students remember all those who have passed and how we should look upon their lives with respect.
