Article by Sarah Campbell (’19): On November 4th and 5th, the Girl’s Varsity Swim Team had their Championship meet at Eisenhower Park. On Saturday, the girls swam some of their best races, all qualifying in the top 24 for finals the following day. The next day the girls all came back determined to swim some more best times.

They were so spirited on the pool deck, cheering throughout the whole meet. Some great swims were swam by Ava Boneville (‘21) and Sarah Campbell (‘19) who both swam the 200 and 500 freestyle. Ava crushed her time in the 200 coming in 20th, and then went on to shave more time in her 500 coming in 15th. Sarah completely demolished her times coming in 9th for both of her races and winning her heat for both. In her 200, she was directly tied for first until the final two laps. For her 500, everyone was watching on their toes as she gain the lead to take first in her heat. Carolyn DeFranco (‘19) also had a great weekend, coming in 7th for her 200 individual medley and 5th for her 100 breaststroke. Carolyn had the whole team cheering as loud as possible as she went to break both of her times. Tiffany Kirkland (‘19) swam amazing races in her 200 individual medley and 100 Backstroke. She came in 14th for her 200 individual medley, and came in 8th for her 100 backstroke breaking her times in both. Marisa Martinez (‘18) swam a great race in the 100 butterfly beating her time and coming in 11th. Marisa also swam a great 200 freestyle coming in 11th. The 200 and 400 freestyle relays were also exciting to watch.  The 200 relay consisted of Carolyn DeFranco (‘19), Claire Lewis (‘19), Ciara Carr (‘18), and Larissa Scandura (‘18). The 400 relay consisted of Sarah Campbell (‘19), Marisa Martinez (‘18), Tiffany Kirkland (‘19), and Patricia Duong (‘19).

The coaches, Miss. Ronan, Miss. Fasano, and Mr. Drury are so proud of their amazing team and how well they did. The girls had a great season overall and are so thankful for all the support from the spectators and coaches.
