This past weekend Kellenberg students volunteered to help in a service project for the Little Sisters of the Poor at Queens of Peace Residence. The event was hosted at Applebee’s in New Hyde Park. With the help of the Applebee’s staff and the Little Sisters we assist in serving breakfast to the elderly and supporters of the Queen of Peace Residence. We put on our waiter/waitress skills to help set up tables and serve the breakfast that included coffee, pancakes, eggs, and sausage. Then we cleared the tables and helped with the dishes. We ended up serving 75 people, all who were kind and friendly and some even giving us tips. This event was a great opportunity to help and support the Little Sisters of the Poor and the elderly poor.
