Article by Phoenix writer Delaney Clark ’25:

On November 14, the One Heart, One Mind, Many Cultures Club met to learn more about each other’s cultures and traditions. Students came together to discuss their diverse traditions.

Mrs. Riiska, the History Department Chairman, says, “I love the One Heart, One Mind, Many Cultures Club because it gives the students an opportunity to learn about each other and their cultures. It allows them to realize the diversity of our school.”

In the upcoming months of November and December, the club will be meeting for special events including a Thanksgiving side dish celebration, a cooking demonstration, a cookie exchange, and a genealogy presentation. In January, the club plans to discuss Haitian independence and their Haitian traditions as well as the importance of Soup Joumou!

When asked what her favorite part of the club is, freshman Agnes Krug says, “I love learning about different cultures and how we can express our creativity.”

All One Heart, One Mind, Many Cultures Club events take place in the Millenium Room. All students in grades 9 to 12 are welcome to attend. Any interested student should contact Mr. Cioffi in the Social Media Center or Mrs. Mulligan in the Student Life Center.
