On Friday, November 9, the Kellenberg Memorial family gathered together for dinner to pay tribute to family members and friends who have served in the military. At this dinner, we remembered their sacrifice and honored their courage, thanking them for their service and for our freedom. The guests were encouraged to browse Kellenberg’s collection of war memorabilia, take pictures with the students, enjoy performances by Firebird Swing and the Bagpipe Club, and feast on a delicious homemade Thanksgiving Buffet.
Mr. Bursig and several other members of his Civil War re-enactment group were in attendance as well, having donned their historical costumes in solidarity with and remembrance of all the American veterans who are no longer here with us to be honored. While fun was had, there were also touching speeches made in honor of POW/MIA soldiers who never returned home and prayers said in honor of all that we’ve risked and all that we’ve lost to remain a free nation.
Thanks to all the members of S.A.L.T. and History Club who came together to make this night a success, the Kellenberg Memorial community was able to show our appreciation for all the brave men and women who fight for our freedom.
