Last year, the Latin School History Club introduced a new monthly feature called Freedom Fridays.  One Friday per month, Mr. Miles uses the iPad’s technology to FaceTime or Skype with an active member of the United States military. This experience provides a unique opportunity for students of the Latin School to speak to soldiers one on one in a classroom setting to learn about their backgrounds, interests, and personal lives.

This month, Staff Sergeant Christopher Darling of the United States Air Force joined in on the experience! Staff Sergeant Darling is currently stationed at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, Georgia where he specializes as a meteorologist. Staff Sergeant Darling has been deployed two times: Jalalabad, Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom as well as Germany, Poland, and the Baltics during Operation Atlantic Resolve under NATO.

We would like to thank Staff Sergeant Christopher Darling for his time with us in the Latin School History Club and for his service and sacrifice for our freedom. Our continued prayers are for his family and all members of our military!
