On Wednesday, March 29, the Varsity and JV Academic Quizbowl teams attended regionals at Plainview Old Bethpage High school. Only 54 of the best teams from across Long Island were invited to participate. After an outstanding performance, both teams took home third place in their division. The Varsity team was represented by Captain Calvin Bernic ’17, Aidan Dowd ’18, Evan Katsounis ’18, and Aidan York ’20. Tyler Martinus ’19 led the Junior Varsity team alongside Michael Garcia ’17, Gerasimos Mikies Copoulos ’18, and Victor Louie ’20. Each team began the night on a winning streak, remaining undefeated until losing the last round against Commack High School. Congratulations to both teams and good luck at Nationals!
